5 Reasons to Purchase Life Insurance

by Life Insurance Buyers Guide on April 28, 2011

You’ve likely heard about the affordability of life insurance and how easy it is to get an instant life insurance quote, but what you may not know is why life insurance is important. Sure it may be affordable, but unless you need it there’s no reason to spend the money. Here are 5 reasons to buy life insurance and I think you will find that these reasons apply to just about everyone.

  1. Funeral Costs: I recently read a funny article that stated that the author literally couldn’t afford to die. Although the author made a heavy situation light with his humor, the high cost of a funeral is not a funny matter. With life insurance you can cover that cost.
  2. Children: If you have kids that are not yet able to provide for themselves you should have life insurance. In the event that you die, life insurance will provide a financial comfort to your dependents until they are able to take care of themselves.
  3. Dept: If you have outstanding dept, when you die the banks and credit card companies will liquidate your house and property in order to settle your dept. If you have a wife or kids, they will have no way to stop this from happening unless you have a life insurance policy that can cover that dept.
  4. Replace Lost Income: Let’s say that you don’t have kids, but both you and your spouse work. If one of you dies the expenses like mortgage and other regular everyday items will be too much to cover using just one income.
  5. Estate Planning: No matter what kind of money your household brings in, you must prepare your estate in the case of your death. You already pay enough taxes as it is, at death your estate may attract taxes and legal costs. With life insurance you can cover these costs so they won’t go to your loved ones.

If you have ever been rejected for life insurance, please consider a nonmedical life insurance policy. It is a great way for people that are considered to be high risk to still secure a life insurance policy.
